Heel spur treatment in Rotterdam

Do you experience stabbing pain under your heel, especially with your first steps in the morning? At Podotherapie Rotterdam, we treat heel spurs effectively using proven methods. Approximately 85% of our patients are free of symptoms within 6 to 8 weeks.

What is a heel spur?

A heel spur is a calcium deposit on the underside of the heel bone, caused by prolonged overloading of the plantar fascia. This connective tissue band runs from the heel to the toes and plays an important role in walking. When this structure is subjected to prolonged strain, inflammation can develop, leading to a heel spur.

The pain is not directly caused by the bony growth itself, but by the inflammation of the plantar fascia. That is why in podiatry we also refer to this condition as plantar fascia complaints or plantar fasciitis.
